SmartSIM Privacy Policy

SmartSIM ("we", "the Platform") is a multi-tenant customer-communications platform used by businesses ("our customers") to talk with their own customers across telephony and messaging channels, including Instagram and Facebook. This policy explains what data we process and why.

Data controller vs processor

For messages, contacts and conversation content that flow through a business's connected channels, the business is the data controller and SmartSIM acts as a data processor on its behalf. For account and billing data of the business's own staff, SmartSIM is the controller.

What we process

• Account data — names, emails and roles of the business's staff who log in to SmartSIM.
• Messaging content — when a business connects an Instagram or Facebook account, we receive the Direct Messages and comments its customers send, and the replies its agents send back, so they can be shown in the business's shared inbox. We use the Instagram account's basic profile (id, username) only to identify the connected account.
• Telephony data — call metadata and, where enabled, call recordings and transcripts.
• Technical data — logs needed to operate the service.

How we use it

Solely to provide the service: deliver inbound messages to the right business inbox, let its agents reply, and keep a conversation history for that business. We do not sell personal data and do not use message content for advertising or profiling.

Sharing

Message content is processed through our self-hosted messaging infrastructure and exchanged with Meta's platforms (Instagram/Facebook) strictly to send and receive the messages a business's customers initiate. We share data with sub-processors only as needed to run the service.

Retention

Conversation and account data are retained for as long as the business keeps its account active, and deleted on request or after account closure, subject to legal retention obligations.

SmartSIM — багатокористувацька комунікаційна платформа, якою бізнеси спілкуються зі своїми клієнтами через телефонію та месенджери, зокрема Instagram і Facebook. Стосовно повідомлень і контактів, що проходять через підключені канали, контролером даних є бізнес, а SmartSIM діє як обробник за його дорученням.

Що ми обробляємо: облікові дані персоналу бізнесу; вміст повідомлень і коментарів Instagram/Facebook, надісланих клієнтами бізнесу, та відповіді агентів; телефонні дані; технічні журнали. Ми використовуємо ці дані виключно для надання сервісу, не продаємо їх і не використовуємо для реклами.
